Delanco, NJ (June, 2009) – Stylex has announced the introduction of Mark 2, designed by Mark Goetz. Mark 2 is a stacker, a stool, and a formal guest chair with a rectilinear frame projecting pure elegance. Superior craftsmanship and simple lines belie Mark 2’s utility which expresses itself in wood, fabric, and steel.

Despite its refined appearance, Mark 2 is a practical, versatile product that may be specified with or without arms; in bright chrome, satin chrome, or painted finish; with either upholstered or wood back. In addition, the seat pan is offered in two widths, the narrower of which will accommodate stacking up to eight chairs on a transport dolly. Armless non-stacking stools complete the line.

The formed wood back may be ordered with FSC-certified veneers, while the seat is standard with CARB compliant plywood. The nature of the materials themselves makes the entire product easy to recycle.

Mark 2 was certainly inspired by the “modern” design aesthetic. While it definitely recalls the retro lines of an earlier time, there is nothing dated about this line. Fifties inspiration has never looked better.

It is anticipated that Mark 2 will be Greenguard certified as is the entire line-up of Stylex products.
