Stylex in Situ: Groupon Headquarters

Daily deals pioneer Groupon sets trends in the restaurant, lifestyle, and beauty industries. Their offices had to continue this hip and modern feel, so it’s natural that they selected Stylex’s versatile Rhythm and Insight Mesh chairs for use in the space. Sturdy, chic, and an exceptional multi-tasker, the Rhythm stacking chairs add a unique touch to dining or meeting spaces with their delicate curved back and seat. Insight Mesh, on the other hand, offers excellent comfort and functionality. See more of what Groupon did here.

Stylex in Situ: NYC at the Levine-Calvano showroom

Our partners at Levine-Calvano in NYC are always showcasing the latest and greatest Stylex products. Located in the New York Design Center at 200 Lexington Avenue, the most recent showroom revamp includes a lot more Stylex space as well as a new layout. The new Share product will be brought into the showroom in time for First Look in July, so if you are local and can’t attend NeoCon, please stop by.

STYLEX IN SITU: The Cara Program by Eastlake Studio

We learned about the installation featured in this issue’s “Stylex In Situ” from the Show Us Your Stylex Spaces Facebook campaign winner, Christina Brown, of Chicago-based Eastlake Studio. The design firm specified Stylex’s Rhythm stacking chairs for the meeting spaces at the Cara Program building in Chicago.   This inspiring organization prepares and motivates driven individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, transform their lives, and forge paths to lasting success.

Rhythm was designed by longtime Stylex collaborator, Sava Cvek. This NeoCon Gold winner offers outstanding movement and flexibility based on the unique form of its plastic shell. As with all Stylex products, the Rhythm chair is GREENGUARD Certified and largely recyclable.

Stylex in Situ: Bongos Cuban Café “Welcomes” Comfort

Travel can be stressful. It is critical that airport lounges and restaurants strike the right note of comfort, design, and hardworking functionality.  At their Miami International Airport outpost, popular hotspot and national chain Bongos Cuban Café uses Stylex’s Sava Cvek-designed Welcome multi-use chairs and stools to create an easygoing and inviting oasis. The sleek zebrawood and medium cherry finishes contrast with chrome frames to give the restaurant space a winning, elegant atmosphere – making Bongos a popular draw for passengers coming and going.

Stylex in Situ: Stacked Seating Versatility

At the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, students often enjoy a study break at the popular Orin’s Place café in Paccar Hall while relaxing in Stylex Avo chairs. These sleek multi-use chairs feature comfortably molded plywood seats and backs, perfect for sipping coffee or pulling an all-nighter. We are pleased to participate in one of the more popular campus hot spots, where Avo durability and design are put to the test on a daily basis.

Stylex in Situ: Takeda Pharmaceuticals

When renovating the U.S. headquarters of Takeda Pharmaceuticals – the largest pharmaceutical company in Asia – Valerio DeWalt Train Architects specified Stylex seating products, almost exclusively. The Chicago-based firm chose four different lines from the family-run company because of their expertise in developing seating concepts for modern office environments. The classic lines and lightness of scale of each Stylex chair is a perfect complement to the open design of Takeda’s architecture.

Since training employees requires hours of undivided attention, 100 Zephyr chairs were specified for training areas to provide all day comfort. With a sculpted back and broad range of customization options, 400 Insight swivel chairs were the choice for the conference rooms. To accommodate guests in private offices, 700 Stylex Welcome chairs were chosen. Meanwhile, 300 of the graceful Avo chairs were designated for the café and common areas of the building.
