Events: NeoCon Wrap-Up

This year’s NeoCon proved to be our most successful ever. With three new lines of seating, as well as our first program of occasional tables, the excitement was palpable. It’s always great hosting old friends as well as new customers in the showroom. Visit our Facebook page to see photos of some of the NeoCon goings-on in the showroom, including our cocktail party.

On the Calendar: NeoCon 2013 + Invite

Others may be in a summer state of mind, but Stylex is moving into high gear to prepare for NeoCon. The upcoming show runs June 10-12 at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. We’ll be in our showroom (Suite 346) showing off the latest introduction as well as some Stylex favorites, so stop by and sit down with us. We’ll have espresso and charging stations to help boost your energy, and the whole Stylex team will be on hand to provide some insight into our latest designs. We also hope you’ll join us for a cocktail celebration from 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday, 6/10.

STYLEX IN SITU: The Cara Program by Eastlake Studio

We learned about the installation featured in this issue’s “Stylex In Situ” from the Show Us Your Stylex Spaces Facebook campaign winner, Christina Brown, of Chicago-based Eastlake Studio. The design firm specified Stylex’s Rhythm stacking chairs for the meeting spaces at the Cara Program building in Chicago.   This inspiring organization prepares and motivates driven individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, transform their lives, and forge paths to lasting success.

Rhythm was designed by longtime Stylex collaborator, Sava Cvek. This NeoCon Gold winner offers outstanding movement and flexibility based on the unique form of its plastic shell. As with all Stylex products, the Rhythm chair is GREENGUARD Certified and largely recyclable.

Product News: The New Zephyr

The popular Zephyr chair by Sava Cvek won NeoCon Gold in 2000. Twelve years later, we are celebrating this company classic with the launch of a new, second generation solution that maintains Cvek’s signature, contoured design and engineered performance while adding a different take on the seat. The new upholstery option makes Zephyr even more adaptable for environments where people want extreme comfort and stackability. Available in arm and armless models that stack 9 to a dolly as well as non-stacking counter and bar height stools. Zephyr has been specified in demanding commercial projects across the country and continues to be an industry favorite.

NeoCon 2011

At this year’s NeoCon, Stylex hosted a timely MeetUp discussion in our newly certified LEED Silver Merchandise Mart showroom. The conversation entitled, Tips And Tools for Online Product Specification, focused on the ever-changing landscape of product specification as impacted by new, developing technologies. (more…)

Award-Winning Sava Chair Now Available!

SAVA, the multi-purpose office chair, designed by architect Sava Cvek, was first unveiled as a prototype at NeoCon 2010. Its introduction was followed by a good deal of positive buzz and a series of design awards including: Honoree in the Interior Design Best of Year Awards, a Best of NeoCon People’s Choice Award and the Chicago Athenauem GOOD DESIGN Award. With the start of the new year comes more good news: SAVA is now available for immediate shipment! A product based on years of research and development, SAVA offers users optimum comfort and productivity that is intuitively simple, highly versatile, and classically elegant. The multi-task version has four low-profile paddles to address seat height, seat depth, tilt tension, and tilt lock. Conference models are further simplified, with seat height and tilt lock only. Both conference and multi-task models incorporate the Balanced Tilt motion to help maintain an upright, yet relaxed, posture. Crafted in cast aluminum, SAVA is up to 98% recyclable, and like all Stylex products, is Greenguard certified. And last, but not least, the chair’s wide range of options allows architects and designers to lend their own craft to a project at a reasonable price-point.
